Clean Slate – Just in time for the sun

Detoxification from caffeine and sugar, the comforting trip home that ensures the luxury of stew and a bath tub and warm welcomes, emptied schedule and full suitcases; awakens the child of summer. For me, the summer marks the date of my birth; a time for new resolutions and prospects of adventure. Being a student n’ all, I for one hardly have the time or finances to fund such vivid escapades as often as I would like to. Fortunately, my boyfriend shares my optimism in wanting to explore unknown territory.

This summer, we set our sights on Phuket, Thailand. This is a picture of Phang Nga Bay, a small island inhabited with bizarre limestone formations that protrude from the sapphire shores. Many may recognize the bay from the (2000) film ‘The Beach’.

For some it’s about becoming more attached with the world, for others more detached with the supposed ‘rat race’ of the everyday shade of grey, in search for more vibrant colours and sensations. Wherever you are, whoever you are with, make it magical. And whatever the summer means for you, make it meaningful.

The song I wish to share with you, anticipates the soon to be vacation from education and the evil exams, something to carry you through your plight of revision: [Emancipator – 'Soon it will be cold enough to build fires'] (The title may seem contradictory to the theme of seeking hot weather, but it’s a song necessary to experience to go with the tide). It was fitting for our recent trip to Amsterdam City, a video documentation will be made shortly for your viewing pleasure.
