A Nice day for a White Wedding

It was announced on November 16th, 2010 a momentous occasion would proceed. I mean of course the marriage of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, to the present Catherine Middleton (A.K.A The Duchess of Cambridge). I’m not sure if you have been following the Royal Wedding’s proceedings via ‘The Royal Channel’, but YouTube and other affiliates have truly outdone themselves in presenting Westminster Abbey in its ‘Crowning Glory’. http://www.youtube.com/theroyalchannel --It’s worth checking it out, even if merely entertaining your curiosity at the enormity of the worldwide spectacle.

America’s news anchors are gobbling it up, embellishing countless versions for the expression of ‘excitement’. How excited do they expect people to get? I have come across mixed views today to say the least. Some frivolous amidst the historical events unfolding, others fulfilling their 4 day weekends’ maximum of potentials, and some not even caring in the slightest! I personally think if being a true patriot didn’t only mean purchasing novelty items and waving Union Jacks in the sight of Royal figureheads, then perhaps this country could be in with a chance of sorting it’s priorities and genuinely bringing people closer within society; the phrase ‘a puppy is not just for Christmas’ springs to mind.

Having followed the live feed up to the point in which the couple’s opening vows were uttered beneath the beckoning ‘fear of the lord’ (as repeated many of times throughout the hours that followed), a question I had long wondered was finally answered. When the Queen is amidst others who are singing ‘God save the Queen’, does she sing it too? The answer is, she doesn’t! But she does manage to throw a weary glare to those around her, just to prove that she is indeed not amused! So, this one’s for you Queenie:  [The Sex Pistols – ‘God Save the Queen’].
